Took a few days off from work to get my head together.  Been using this time for some much needed "me time."  I need to do some mental and emotional repair, and prepare myself for an unknown road ahead.

I have suffered through many disappointments in almost every aspect of my life in the past two years.  I believe that I have seen a good amount of the painful side of life in these past two years.  The side that people never expect to see or encounter.  For every unfortunate event that I may come upon, it will only make me a better person.  My most recent situation has been a true and bonified wake-up call.  I've got to make some changes in my life.  By no means am I claiming that I am the most unfortunate person in the world,  but I now truly realize that you should appreciate everything that you have.  "Don't take anything for granted."  We hear that phrase and preach it all the time.  But how many of us actually practice it?  I have recently found myself finding comfort in the person that I never thought I could find comfort in and I was finally able to empty my emotions.  Thank you for the comfort and relief.

"What doesn't kill you, will only makes you stronger."

Some pictures from the March match that I just never got to posting...

Still recovering from the sunburn from yet another successful and fun match last Saturday.  As soon as I got home, I showered then fell into bed and slept.  The sun can really drain the energy from you.  I felt like I had ran 10 miles without stopping.

Just got back from California this Monday.  I think I've finally caught up with sleep.  I probably got a total of 10 hours of sleep within the 4 days I was there.  I ended up getting sick by the end of the trip.  It was great seeing all of my cousins and family again.  It's been so long since I've last seen them.  Hopefully I can visit them more often in the future.  Here are a few pictures:

The March TXDPSA match was a huge success.  Arrived at Impact Zone in Hempstead at about 8 am in the morning.  I was supposed to be there at 7:30, but this place is hard to find.  It's literally way out in the boonies.  Went through the new shooter orientation.  Meet and greet started at about 9 am.  At 9:30 we started going over the courses of fire and after that we were locked and loaded.  We had about 8 courses of fire yesterday, and all of them had a high round count, which makes for more fun.  We finish up at about 2:30 pm, and just fooled around with our guns for about 30 min.  At 3 pm, we go to Repka's, a little hole in the wall place way out in the middle of nowhere and ate some food while we socialized.  After that, we all parted ways.  I can't wait until next month!

Took mom out last night for her birthday.  Carlene, Brenna, and I took her to the rodeo to see Maroon 5 and eat some turkey legs.  We had a lot of fun.  Happy birthday Mom!
